A Case Study utilizing the NEW Scottish Maps to Pinpoint an Ancestral Origin
A Sample DNA Case Study which shows how the NEW Scottish Origenes Surnames, Clans, Castles and DNA maps can be used together with a simple painless commercial ancestral DNA test to rediscover your Scottish ancestral origin can be downloaded and studied by CLICKING HERE. These maps are the product of 3 years of meticulous reseach. The Surname Map details the precise origin of approximately 4000 different Scottish Surnames. Each surname is positioned based on where farmers with each surname concentrated in early census data. The Clan territories map was reconstructed based on the location of nearly 1000 identified castles which are historically associated with almost 400 of the most notable Scottish Clans and Families. Each castle used in the creation of the Clan map is detailed on the Scottish Castles map and there is an interactive Castles map (here) which is freely available (zoom in and explore). Whats quite remarkable is that 95% of people with Scottish paternal ancestry will be related to at least one of the estimated 400 Scots Clans or Families that dominanted Medieval Scotland. What will your DNA reveal? Some sample images from all 3 maps are published regularly on the Scottish Origenes Facebook page (here)
